WHY 2-CM DREAMS?

Every child deserves the opportunity to explore beyond the boundaries of what they know and discover what they are capable of becoming. At 2-CM Dreams, we create those opportunities for underserved and underprivileged youth; especially girls, through experiences that build confidence, curiosity, courage, and real-world skills. From Sailing Adventures that introduce young people to the freedom and responsibility of navigating the Chesapeake Bay, to Swimming Lessons that develop a critical life skill, to STEAM Trade Discovery that opens doors to careers and industries they may have never imagined, our programs are designed to turn exposure into possibility.

Our work matters because access can change the trajectory of a life. When children are given the opportunity to step onto a sailboat, become confident in the water, work with their hands, explore technology, or discover a new career path, they begin to see themselves differently and envision a future that once may have felt out of reach. By creating these experiences in Annapolis and surrounding communities, 2-CM Dreams is helping build a generation of young people who are more prepared, more confident, and empowered to pursue meaningful futures. The impact extends beyond each child: stronger young people create stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger future for all of us.

79%

of children in households earning under $50K have little-to-no swimming ability.

For too many children, learning to swim isn’t a childhood milestone; it’s an opportunity their family simply can’t afford. That means missing out on the confidence, freedom, and lifesaving skills that come from being comfortable in the water.

A child’s income shouldn’t determine whether they learn how to survive in the water.

young people participating in national sailing access program needed scholarship assistance to experience sailing.

For many underserved children, the water is something they can see, but never experience. Sailing can teach confidence, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, responsibility, and the courage to navigate something unfamiliar.

The barrier isn't their ability.

It's access

11%

of America’s STEM middle-skill workforce is made up of women.

Girls can’t dream about careers they’ve never been given the opportunity to discover.

Early exposure matters. A young girl who gets to build, design, create, experiment, solve problems, work with tools, explore technology, or meet someone working in an unfamiliar career can suddenly begin to see herself in a future she didn’t know existed.

2-CM Dreams uses STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics—along with skilled-trade and career discovery to turn curiosity into possibility.

Your time, expertise, or financial support could introduce a girl to the career that changes the course of her life.

You can help us turn more dreams into opportunities. Whether you donate to help a child participate, volunteer your time and expertise, connect us with resources, or partner with 2-CM Dreams to bring our programs into another community, you become part of something bigger than a single experience. You become part of a network committed to ensuring that a child’s circumstances do not determine the limits of their possibilities. Together, we can give more young people the chance to get in the water, get on the water, discover their talents, and begin building the future they deserve.
